Is it offensive to Native Americans if I put my pens and a dreamcatcher?
I think the Native American art and jewelry is beautiful! I love turquoise feathers and headdresses (but I would not use one) and saw a lady in line (which was not Native American) and wrote this essay on how the lack respect is for people to use feathers in their hair and wear Indian moccasins if sent ..
Moccasins are shoes. They have no spiritual significance. Even used anymore, except during the dances. Go ahead and wear it if you like, I promise you will be offended no real native. Feathers hair? As fashion is not like any other native style (chicken feathers purple or pink) I can not find anything remotely offensive either. It also does not turquoise. Now ... The use of eagle feathers, yes, that would be offensive because they are sacred and are given only under special circumstances. It's a great honor to have the right to use eagle feathers. They are not given lightly. What is offensive is the people who use Native American images as sports mascots, the use of Pen "war paint" and the eagle touched as accessories fan and its misuse. This is just sick, and would not be tolerated if you use the sacred image of any other ethnic group. Think about it. And catcher? They're just ornaments of the crib, nothing more. There is nothing sacred about them, rather than moving your baby's crib. We believe it is a bit silly when white adults buy for themselves, but hey whatever,. We are not in the least offended. This is pretty funny. So far, I'm the only enrolled tribal member Native American, who has responded, and giving my answer is "no trespass" is getting a thumbs down? Really? Did you want and expect me to be offended? Really? After all his people have done to offend Native Americans, (You know, massacring us and stealing our land) is what I really think it would be annoying if you put the feathers chicken hair ????? Give me a break!
