Anyone know of any good artists to listen to for belly dance?
I'm a drummer and I have a good friend who's a belly dancer. She wants to start dancing to a live drummer and has asked me to write music for her. So far I've been listening to Beats Antique, whatever Pandora spits out related to them and Terry Bozzio for inspiration. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I could listen to for inspiration and maybe guidance for writing this type of music?
Isaam Houshan, Amir Sofi (I think that's the name), Pentaphobe (very similar to Beats Antique), Oojami, Turkish Halay (it's a song, it's a modern version of the halay), Bellyhouse, and you should watch videos by the dancer Didem, she always dances to the drums.
