what wood would be best to carve a cuff bracelet out of?
I want to carve a cuff bracelet out of wood but I don't know what kind of wood would be best. since its going to be a bracelet it needs to be hard and durable but also carveable. Any ideas about what wood I should use and where I could buy some?
For a bracelet to be sturdy, it needs the grain of the wood to be going around it. So this suggests you might want to get some veneer and roll it up on a cylinder, laminating with glue. When it dries, you can carve it as you like.
Sometimes, if you really look hard, you can find wood with strange grain that curves. But I doubt you'll find anything that curves enough to really match a bracelet's shape.
