what do I do about my infected ear piercing?
Okay, so I've had my ears pierced for about eight years. A few days ago I put in one on those cheap-o pairs of forever 21 earrings, and then I think two or three days later my right ear got really infected. It kind of got all hard and puffy around the hole and there was a little white stuff and like, one drop of blood when I took the earring out.I think maybe I just put it in too tight, so I put on lots of that Claire's antiseptic stuff I got when I got my doubles a few weeks ago, I wore dangling earrings all day, but when I took it out it bleed a tiny bit and I don't think it got any better. Just now I put in some little diamond studs because I don't want my ear to close up. What do I do? Thanks so much!
First, stop changing the earrings. Put in a pair that are a high quality material - nothing dangling - and leave them in. After eight years, it is unlikely your ears will close up, so if you have to leave them out instead of putting in something good quality, it shouldn't be a problem.
Second, someone on here is bound to tell you to use alcohol, witch hazel, hydrogen peroxide, betadine or some such thing. DO NOT USE THESE THINGS! They will only irritate the area and won't do anything to help you heal.
