Equivalent to the Claddagh ring?
I'm very intrigued by the Celtic tradition of the Claddagh ring that some of my friends has Irish ancestry. I would get one for myself, but I'm not Irish, so I feel almost as if the imposition of their culture (I probably would not feel that way, but it's just that's how I feel). I wondered if there was any equivalent to it in German, Austrian, Polish, Slovak, Slovenian, Croatian or heritage? If not, you probably just get me a Claddagh ring. When he went to Germany, told me that most Germans are the Celts, so it would just be a slight stretch of the explanation if someone were to ask Ireland.
I found a Celtic ring @ a Renaissance Faire, once, only because I love the Celtic knot design. Recently, have visited Ireland, and bought a necklace with 18 carats Celtic. in the middle, another Celtic style pendant, bought @ a jewelry Claddagh Claddagh, Ireland. Also I bought a Claddagh ring with heart in both hands during the St. Patrick's Day for me. I stopped wearing it, because my fingers got bigger. But the ring Celtic is cheaper by far and has more value to me because I have visited Ireland! You do not have to be Irish to wear what you like, and I'm not. But People buy them all the time because they like and like the style and for his Irish blood or lack of. If someone asked, just tell a little white lie and say, my aunt, who visited Ireland, he gave me! So smile and be proud. Fashion is supposed to be: fun, friendly and modern. If you like, use it, and he is happy, Who cares what people think. Irish or not. I think, IMO, would be an honor you like his style! I know, I would be honored if someone was using clips, hair flowers that sell fabric and non-profit. And those people who has bought me yesterday, just a @, I took their photos. . . . . I sold $ 200.
