What can I bring on Amtrak?
Can I bring things like lotion, perfume, shampoo, etc..?

They do not have the any restrictions on liquids as an airplane does. No one will care at all if you take a suitcase full of electronics. Everything you list is fine.
Their list of prohibited items are primarily weapons, dangerous chemicals, and the like.
I have not had any involvement with Amtrak for a few years, but I have never seen baggage being screened in any way at all. That may be different in some larger stations, but, in general, the baggage screening is minimal.

What is your favorite running bag?
I am a high school cross country and track runner and i have been using a large nike duffel to carry my running stuff to school and meets for the past year. It is time to get a new bag and I am wondering what bags do people like best from experienced runners. I need a large compartment for sweats, tshirts, and uniform. I also always carry my sneakers and my racing flats which often come home muddy. I have my cell, ipod, keys, money and jewelry so it would be great if there was a pocket for all that. What are your favorite bags? What do you recommend?
A big duffle bag : ). Thats what I use. The main thing is when you have expensive things like that get a bag that has zippers with a little bigger holes where you zip and unzip. that way you can fit a small key lock or combo lock to lock your bag so you dont lose your stuff.
