How to keep crafting supplies organized?
Me, my boyfriend and my cat live in a very small one bedroom apartment. I like to craft and I have a lot of different loves (sewing, knitting/crochet, various forms of jewelry-making, glass-etching, decoupage, hair accessories, stenciling, etc. etc. ) and it's nearly impossible for me to find a place for all of this without filling up the whole house. We just moved in so all of my craft stuff is either in the back of my car/in the trunk or sitting in boxes at my dad's house. How can I organize several types of crafting supplies without it being a nuisance or an eyesore? I mean, is it possible?
I can't really store everything in a desk, but thanks. My fabric alone fills up several plastic tubs.
i had the same problem...luckily we moved into a big three bedroom condo with lots of closet space:)
plastic containers/bins are your best bet for your bigger items (i.e. paper, fabric etc.). you can get those big, shallow ones that fit under the bed. small plastic containers/photo boxes/decorative baskets/bins from craft stores are useful for smaller crafting items and can easily fit into a small book case...target has those cubed bookcases that do not take up a lot of room (you can get a 2x4 cube one). they have fabric bins in a ton of colors/materials that you can put crafting items into and put in the cubes of the shelf. some can stay open and house crafting magazines/books or larger items. something like this http://lh5.ggpht.com/_WRcyGk-xTag/TR4uP9_zJdI/AAAAAAAAEDU/OLeTMvU8axM/s1600-h/DSC_7002%5B3%5D.jpg
