My boyfriend Found an Engagement Ring?
My boyfriend found an engagement ring (we're both not sure if it is an engagement ring, it's a gold band with what looks like a clear-cut diamond on top) on a parking lot when he went out to get some groceries. We still don't know if it's real, but we're pretty sure it is. We also posted an ad for Craigslist had some flyers go around. Three weeks has passed and now and no one has claimed it still. What do we do now?? Should we turn it in to the authorities or can we possible sell it?? What's our next move?
I think you should look in the newspapers to see if anyone reported a lost ring in them. Past that I wouldn't want to turn it in to the cops because some towns if the ring isn't claimed will sell it and keep the money! Personally and speaking from personal experience since I found what I believe to be a wedding band, I also posted on craigslist and look frequently to see if anyone has posted that they lost a ring. I check the papers, and I'm hoping that I can find the owner. I wouldn't sell it though, not for a while. I won't ever sell this ring!
