I live on a busy road, my window is visible to many people. Can i rent out an advertising spot?
Im currently a tenant renting out the house, its located on a very busy road in brighton. The house was originally made as a shop so the windows are facing the pavement and they are very large, Im guessing its previous use was to showcase, like something you would usually see in the display window of a shop. There is also a two way road parallel to the house and the pavement. I can roughly estimate that around 100 people pass every minute...
So to the point -
Can i use this space as an advertising spot, such as billboards? Would i be able to set up a sign without facing any legal issues?
Most likely not as in a residential area commercial signs are not normally allowed.
You have a couple of challenges in doing this
#1 Do your lease allow you to do this?
#2 Is the property zoned for this type advertisement.?
#3 Would your neighbors act favorably to you doing this?
#4 Would any sign or advertisement be considered blight?
