I have narrowed my choices down to my two favorite rings. I have been looking for a ring to act as a purity ring (I am 19 and I am more committed to this than ever before- this isn't just because the Jonas Brothers wear them). I wanted to get something that was nicer than a sterling silver ring with "True Love Waits" engraved- I want something that isn't obviously a purity ring, but will just serve as a reminder to myself (it'll also symbolize some other things as well, but I won't get into all of that here).

2. 1/2 ctw Black and White Diamond and 1/6 ctw Sapphire Ring in 10k White Gold

I know "black" isn't typically a purity ring color, but I absolutely love black and white (the contrast)- and it would serve as a reminder to embrace my craziness.

Which one do you like best?

For my boyfriend's birthday I am ordering him a ring. When we first started dating two years ago I would wear a very thin silver flower patterned ring and we would trade wearing it each day until the day we moved in together. The other day I found a jeweler on Etsy.com who for some reason has the exact same flower pattern material. She's agreed to make a custom ring for me, but I'm worried that a flower patterned ring, as thin as it is, may not be very masculine. The ring is only about the width of two penny edges, so to see the pattern you have to get pretty close. She'll be putting a stronger metal backing behind it though, which will make the ring (but not the pattern) a little wider. Does it seem too feminine for a man's ring, even if there is a sentimental reason for it? If so, what are a few ways I could have her customize the ring to make it a little more masculine?
