The dusty path winding slowly
Around dark cedar trees
Like small vines hugging broken limbs
Roots running through with ease

The grass has a light golden hue
From sun's filtering leaves
It dances between gentle oaks
Like misting feathered sleeves

The clear lake is calm ,shaded green
Lily pads share their tone
Dragonflies joined in partnered dance
Around lake's pebbled stones

Lonely walk just to see the lake
Grasses bend for a seat
Rested my back upon a tree
So vision's sky may meet

Saw a large hawk, gliding alone
He's looking for his mate
To share the deep blue clouded sky
So they may share their fate

Watching this has clouded my mind
As my love passed away
Sitting here where we had first kissed
Will make this moment stay
