How Different Styles of Watch Band Connecting Pins Benefit You
Watch bands are those devices that attach to the wrist watch and fasten the watch itself securely to the wrist. A watch band can be made of several substances. These materials can include leather, metal, or a strong and long-lasting cloth-like fabric.
A leather or long-wearing fabric watch band is made up of two pieces with each of the bands being linked to the wristwatch through a pin. On the other end of the leather watch band there is a buckle like feature that provides the other end of the strap to be slipped in and latched together by putting the pin into the preset hole.
A metallic-like watchband is mostly made up of linked units that move independent of each other. This separate motion gives a more solid, yet comfortable fit when the wrist is moved. The metallic watchband is also connected to the wrist watch by a metallic pin. These two pins secure each end of the watch band securely to the wrist watch.
There are three individual methods that the attaching pin, that secures the watchband to the wrist watch, can be integrated. Those three individual kinds of pins comprise the regular release, lever, and screw type.
The Regular Release
The regular release type pin that fastens the watch band to the wristwatch is long enough to be slipped in through the looped ends of the band. Each of the ends of the pins are meant to be placed into the prefabricated holes that are a component of the top and bottom part of the casing of the wristwatch. Frequently the pulling back of the pin can be achieved by using a small jeweler's screwdriver or other such setup.
The pin itself is hollowed out and inside a spring is put in. When one end of the pin is pressed upon it then retracts. This procedure then permits one end of the pin to be inserted into the prefabricated hole and the other end of the pin retracted and positioned into place close to the opposite hole.
When above the hole the tension on the withdrawn side is let go and this provides for the pin to be inserted through the opening. This action is then replicated to attach the other portion of the watch band to the other section of the casing. It is essential to keep in mind that the pin is spring loaded. Accordingly, if the person inserting the pin is not cautious, the pin can be forcefully launched.
The Lever
The next style of pin employs a lever system. This lever pin is placed in the looped area of the watch band and is alike in function as the regular release pin. Even so, this kind of pin, instead of employing a jeweler's screwdriver or other such setup, has a lever mechanism.
Just find the lever and motion the lever inwards towards the opposite end. This will draw back the tension of the pin and provide for the comfortable withdrawal of the end of the pin from the prefabricated hole.
As with the regular release pin, it is crucial to control the removing of the end of the pin from the casing. This kind of pin is continuously under tension and if released, in an unrestrained fashion, the pin may be lost.
The Screw
The last type of pin that is available to secure the watch band to the watch casing is a screw type pin. This kind of pin is not of the spring release form, but is merely a small metal rod that is inserted in one end and attached firmly to the other end of the casing by using a small screw. Therefore, the structure of a watch band might appear simplistic, but it is in reality kind of complex in order to furnish you with the utmost comfort.
