What is the difference between embossing powder and flocking powder?
I watched a Youtube video and it looked like you use the same technique with the clear ink, but i don't see the difference. Is embossing powder just more shimmery. It looked like from the video that the flocking powder (with it being black) looked like velvet a bit. I know that it is fibers from felt, but i still don't get the difference between the two as far as the look of it, texture, and purpose. Please explain this to me. I am a beginner at stamping. Thanks

Flocking powder is velvety. It produces a raised, soft velvet effect. You can use it s an outline for something fuzzy like a teddy bear image or for flowers and grasses or anything you want to add a velvety texture to. You will find flocking powder adhered to the base of hard decorative objects too, so they won't scratch the surface they sit on. Flocking lines velvet boxes as well.
Embossing powder produces a firm, hard and glossy line. It is also raised but there is nothing soft and velvety about it. I use embossing powder to produce raised edges on stamped images. It makes a lovely sentiment for a card:

I find embossed images a lot easier to paint or colour as I definitely know where the edges of the image are, fro example. But embossing powder can be used for a number of different things. You can make faux metal with it, for example:
