Carpentry : Wax/polish - What is this vax, how to use it?
Someone gave me some blocks of vax that belonged too his grandfather, he was a furniture maker. But long passed. The vax pieces has different colors, some soft some very hard. I assumed it's to polish wood with, as I tried it on some homemade wooden pipes of mine. But how do I use this correctly? Is it even for polishing? any information would be great.
They may be for doing furniture repairs. I say that because you said they are different colors. What they would do is use a special hot putty knife to melt the right colored wax into a scratch or dent in the furniture then buff off the excess. I don't know too much about the process but have seen it done a couple times.

i left a nail polish remover wipe on my wooden table?
its completely stripped off the varnish on that bit of the wood and i dont know what to do to repair it? i've tried to wash it off but the varnish and laquer seems to be completely gone?
can i get a wood stain or something?
i'm renting so i need desperate help.
they got these markers for like 9 bucks made just for this time of mess up, you can get them at lowes or home depot or wherever i guess, and you just cover the messed up area with the marker and buff it with a paper towel
